Virtual Dementia Tour

Ted Gillespie is a Certified VDT Facilitator

The Virtual Dementia Tour (VDT) is a scientifically proven method of building a greater understanding of dementia through the use of patented sensory tools and instruction based on research conducted by P.K.Beville, M.S. geriatric specialist and the founder of Second Wind Dreams. During the Virtual Tour experience, trained facilitators guide participants through common every day tasks and exercises while outfitted with patented devices that alter their senses. The Tour enables caregivers to experience for themselves the physical and cognitive challenges those with dementia face. Proceeds from the Virtual Dementia Tours are used to fulfill Second Wind Dreams, mission to make dreams come true for our elders who live in long term care.

The VDT Comprehensive Program is designed for professional training in a clinical or educational setting and for use with the local community to educate and sensitize caregivers and anyone who interacts with seniors to help change the way we care for those living with dementia.

The video below from ABC news will give you what a VDT experience looks like.
